Welcome to the Carolina Memory CareNet Website.
The CareNet was created to improve access to quality dementia care across North Carolina. Our goals are to:
- Provide education on best practices and recent advances in the care of persons with cognitive impairment and dementia;
- Support and conduct research aimed at better understanding and diagnosing the causes of cognitive impairment, and more effectively treating these conditions;
- Foster optimal treatment of persons with these disorders and, in partnership with community services providers, to support the loved ones who live with and care for them.
This project aims to improve care for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders (ADRD) through the creation of a network of educational resources and local support for medical providers and North Carolina Agencies on Aging and Alzheimer’s Association chapters. CareNet specifically caters to persons with early stage ADRD to develop and evaluate new, innovative programs to serve this growing and important subgroup of persons with the disease.
